*We could have extended bass response even further, 40-Hz
or lower, to excel at "spec wars". Instead,
we chose the 75Hz cutoff point to insure completely
unlimited dynamic range capabilities with any music or
soundtrack source material. The normal crossover frequency
to the subwoofer in quality multi-channel systems is 80Hz.
The Essence V will provide a seamless transition to the
high-quality subwoofer(s) of your choice.

Essence Raves .
"The ACI Essence 7
channel home theater package, consisting of the Essence V's,
Essence center, and Emeralds for side and back duty are my
standard for an under $7500 7 channel (sans subwoofer) system.
They manage to do so for $3900.
For once, the name of a
product actually defines it. Essence, defined, is "quality
which marks the true nature of a thing, which is greater than
the sum of its parts".
The Essence package does just
this : The ability of this system to never call attention to
itself is nothing short of remarkable. From the quietest whisper
of movie dialogue to the loudest crescendo in dynamics from
movies like "War of the Worlds", this speaker system
remains true to the soundtrack.
In our rather large (25 x 21
foot) theater room, there is never a hint of harshness, just
accurate, and when required, musical bliss.
One rather wealthy audiophile
friend of mine has $13,000 speakers, and another $15,000 in
pre-amp, power amp and CD player (names held to protect the
innocent). His words "You have over 90 % of the quality of
my system, which is strictly 2 channel. These speakers are an
