West Salem, WI : 12 miles north of current location
After a year long search, on July 1 we began work on the
next ACI facility. The building is located in West
Salem, WI. , about a dozen miles north and east of "the
church" we've owned and worked out of for 20 years. Our
tentative timetable calls for the
showroom/office/bathroom/listening room framing to be
completed by July 17. After that, about a week for running all
electrical and installing new HVAC system. Sheet rocking to
begin around the 24th of July.
Once the HVAC and wiring are installed we plan to begin
moving office furniture, computers, inventory, tools,
etc. Our goal is to be working out of the new facility
by mid August late August (crossing fingers).
7/2/07: Camera shot looking down on what will become shipping / receiving
to the left and office to the right.
7/4/06: The 16' high, 12' wide overhead door that will
greatly improve handling of pallets, containers, etc.
7/5/06: The framing has begun. Gary is checking on
some specs and Lin is preparing a nail gun.
7/1106: Side/Top down view of what will become the new
#1 ACI listening room. Notice the staggered studs on 2X6
footers and headers and what will be 9' ceiling.
7/24/07 Electrical header at the front of the listening
room. Note that all 120V must be in conduit (commercial
building). Note all the inwall wires from the surround
and rear areas are deadheaded for future use. The blue,
empty conduit runs up and to a position on the ceiling for a
future projector. You can also see the staggered stud
construction.
7/30/07 Cases of the famous Green Glue for use between
the double layers of sheetrock in the sound room.
8/6/07: Lin is working with Gary to fiberglass the
sound room.
8/807: Insulation is complete. Vapor barriers have
been installed. Sheetrock is delivered (120+ 4' X12'
sheets). Notice that contractors have also moved the
overhead radiant heat tube about 8' laterally and
repositioned the overhead halogen lights. We are ready to
ROC!
