High-Pass Filters

Passive high-pass RCA type plug-in filters are available from ACI to remove the deep bass from your main amplifier/speakers. These in-line filters allow greater dynamic range and clarity from the main amp and speakers because they don't have to work nearly as hard in the bass. 

ACI Filters can be used as long as you have line-level (RCA) inputs to your main amplifier. If you have separates, this will be no problem. If you have a receiver or integrated amplifier, it must have pre-amp outputs and main amp inputs.

ACI Filters are 1st Order, (6db/oct), and  resistively loaded to allow use with virtually any power amplifier. Choose between two crossover frequencies of: 65Hz or 85Hz.

Please Note:

If your receiver has no pre-amp outputs or main amp inputs, you have three alternatives to using High-Pass filters:

1) Run your main speakers full-range (no High-Pass filters) using the subwoofer to fill in the bottom only. If you have enough power and your main speaker aren't straining, this is probably the best approach.

2) Insert a 200mfd NON-polarized (100 volt or greater) capacitor in series with each main speaker. This is the function of the "speaker-outputs" on many powered subs. It will provide some low-bass roll-off to the main speakers but is not as linear as a line-level high-pass.

3) Consider upgrading to a better receiver or separates.
